Artepus is an online source for art, crafts, decor and lifestyle inspiration. We believe that you should be surrounded by the objects that make you happy and satisfy the senses, whether it's four objects or four hundred. It's not an exaggeration to say that many of us are spending more time in our living spaces and seek an environment that nurtures inspiration. We offer a selection of art, both fine and decorative, and items for the home, that we have created, collected and curated.
For some time we have had the desire to effectuate a venture that would combine our creativity as makers with our other multifarious interests, collecting art and objects that we have found pleasing and the exploration of places, people, gastronomy and ideas. Thus Artepus was born.
Daniela, a native of Hanover, Germany, was fortunate to study with arts and craft educators, from a young age, that led her to develop an interdisciplinary artistic oeuvre, with an emphasis on ceramics, sculpture, fiber arts, photography and jewelry.
Mark grew up in the restaurant business as his parents owned and operated an eatery that featured traditional New England cooking. Later on he enjoyed a career as a chef throughout the United States and then abroad in the Virgin Islands, Belize, Germany, the Netherlands, Greece and Tunisia. After returning to his native Massachusetts, Mark ran an award winning cooking school before deciding to focus full time on painting and, along with Daniela, creating Artepus.
Since our early years together, living in Amsterdam, the Greek island of Hydra, our summer house in Sweden, and extensive travels throughout the Mediterranean, our esthetics have taken form and guided our artistic style, sense of design and bolstered the courage of our esthetic convictions. This is what we bring to the table. The ability to curate art, objects and ideas, that will assist our clients in accentuating and enhancing their lifestyle and surroundings.
"Tradition is a guide and not a jailer" W. Somerset Maugham
